Iva.

How she stole our hearts...

When we first moved into our home in 2015, we were often pleasantly startled by the commotion of a wild white German Shepherd, attached to a chain, running around outside our house. That was Iva. She lived next door and would regularly break that chain to come visit us in such a way, joyfully jumping on our windows to say hello. She wriggled her way under the fence and made herself a cozy little spot in our barn...and in our hearts.

By 2017, the neighbors had tired of coming to retrieve her so frequently and the answer took no time when asked if we'd like to keep her. She and Josie quickly became sisters in spirit, developing a bond that was a treasure to witness.

After 4 years of giving her a true home and the freedom she deserved, at 8 years of age, we lost Iva to her battle with cancer. Josie passed naturally, shortly thereafter.

I had been caring for dogs in my spare time for years but, after this experience, I knew I wanted to make a bigger impact in the lives of more dogs. We want to share Iva's paradise in every way we can. She was one of those dogs who changes your everything. So here we are.

Welcome to Iva's Place.
